The WS- series from G.Lufft Mess-und Regeltechnik GmbH (Lufft) represents the newest development in the field of Compact Modular Weather Stations. Utilising professional intelligent sensor technology the unit is equipped with a UMB interface for integration into Environmental Monitoring Systems. The maintenance free technology combines a mutli-measurement approach and sets new standards for meteorological measurements.
Lufft Sensors are ideal for mounting at 3, 10, 30 or 50 meters and can be used for Meteorological monitoring on road sides, industrial plant sites, remote monitoring stations, wind turbines, farms, and other applications where reliable, accurate weather data is required.
The Lufft WS series allows you to select the parameters you wish to measure in a cost effective, time and space saving manner.
- Wind speed and wind direction can be measure by a maintenance free sonic wind sensor
- Precipitation can be measure using radar technology – free of costly maintenance procedures associated with tipping buckets. Both snow and rain can be measured as precipitation intensity, type and quantity are sensed.
- Temperature and Relative humidity sensors are housed in a fan aspirated casing to allow accurate measurement in high radiation areas.
- Air pressure can be measure by way of a capacitor.
- Both the precipitation and wind speed/wind direction sensor are heated to allow operation in ambient temperatures from -50C to 60C
- With all or some sensors incorporated into one unit, and one digital interface (UMB protocol made by Lufft) installation and commissioning is quick and simple.
The WS Series includes the following Sensors:
WS200: Wind Speed and Wind Direction
WS300: Temperature and Relative Humidity and Absolute Pressure.
WS400: Temperature and Relative Humidity, Absolute Pressure and Precipitation (Intensity, Type, Quantity).
WS500: Wind Speed and Wind Direction, Temperature and Relative Humidity and Absolute Pressure.
WS 600: Wind Speed and Wind Direction, Temperature and Relative Humidity, Absolute Pressure and Precipitation (Intensity, Type, Quantity).
The UMB (Universal Measurement Bus) system provides data transfer over RS485 or GPRS modem (optional). Data is available in ASCII or UMB protocol. UMB offers flexibility, modularity and web-based visualization and polling software.
In addition Lufft offers a variety of optional software packages from data retrieval weather stations (COLLECTOR) to web visualization (SmartView3).
